The NAPE Education Foundation has developed "Micromessaging to Reach and Teach Every Student," a high-quality, research-based, educator professional development program to address gender- and culturally based implicit biases that occur in the classroom and that are manifested through "micromessages." This unique program provides participants with an awareness of the power of micromessages, which include looks, gestures, tone of voice, or the framing of feedback that subtly yet powerfully shape our culture, our classrooms, and the individuals within them.

Tegwin Pulley is a woman on a mission. Across business, civic, and educational sectors, her mission is nothing short of creating environments where inspiration, opportunity, and achievement are available for all. Since 2011, she has led NAPE’s efforts in Texas providing STEM Equity Pipeline™ programs for over 1,200 educators from community colleges, UTeach Dallas, Educate Texas and eight schools districts.

She retired from Texas Instruments (TI) where she was Vice President. Her leadership track record inside and outside TI resulted in:

• TI becoming one of the best companies to work for;
• Over 180 awards to TI for diversity, work-life and inclusive environment;
• 7 public/private partnerships established to grow the STEM workforce;
• $26 million raised for a technology consortium; and
• A 50% increase in electrical engineering graduates in Texas.

With a unique background as an executive in Finance and Human Resources, she takes an innovative approach to finding solutions that are good for both employees and the bottom line. Tegwin has a history of building programs and partnerships where none existed before, including the DFW Technology and Education Council and the Regional Workforce Leadership Council. She has served the Board of Regents for Texas Woman’s University and on over thirty community boards and chaired ten non-profits, ranging from the Texas Engineering and Technology Consortium to Leadership Texas. Tegwin is the recipient of eleven awards including the Athena Award from the Regional Dallas Chamber of Commerce and the Tech Titan Community Hero Award from the Metroplex Technology Business Council. Her education includes a BS in Education with major in mathematics from Northwest Missouri State University, a MBA from the Executive MBA program at Southern Methodist Univers, and the Strategic Human Resources Planning program at the University of Michigan.
